Happy Birthday, Weezer's Haven.

This marks the 4th birthday of Weezer's Haven.

In September 2006 I decided to take my daughters' advice and start a blog.  She was having such positive results with hers and my other daughter had moved 3 hours away.  It seemed like a good way for everyone to stay in touch.
It was difficult at first.  Well, not just at first.  I often felt frustrated and not very artistic in what I posted.  It took me a long, long, LONG time to get where it just didn't matter if anyone read what I wrote or saw the photographs that I'd taken.  The blog was for me.  It was for me to keep in touch with my daughters.
Although on some level I still think that....that my blog is for me.  But I also do it for YOU.  You keep me posting, writing, photographing.
It's a different world, this blogging thing.  As far as I can tell, it's different from the Face book thing or the Twitter Tweeter thing.  It must be since I see that there are so many who do all of it.
I have become a blogging addict.  I am often times here typing away when I should be doing other things.  But I'm happy to confess that I still get things done besides my posts to you.  Not always in a timely fashion, but things do get done.  After I get a post typed out.

Two of my daughters no longer post to their blogs but I continue.  It's my own little world that I can share with so many people that I've come to know and care about.
Thank you for staying with me.  For sharing your life with me as I share my thoughts, dreams, and life with you.  All of you are special.

Happy Birthday, Jessica

Today is our middle daughter's birthday.  Just last night Mister and I were sitting and remembering where we were 29 years ago.  It's still pretty vivid in my memories.
May I encourage you to visit Jessica's website and read her account of living to be 29 years old.  She has a wonderful way with words that she didn't get from me.  And if you don't want to read it, at least go and see what dear ol' Weezer looked like 29 years ago.

Happy Birthday, Larry

Today is my brother's birthday.  Larry is 13 months younger than I am so he's not far behind me in getting old.  When we were little kids, people thought we were twins.
He' been more productive in his life than I ever thought he would be.  As kids, we were nothing alike.  I guess that's not unusual for a brother and sister.  He's grown to be a human being!  A real person!  I don't know how it happened but I can't deny it.
He retired from the Air Force and then to work for the prison system in Florida.  Retired from there, too.
We've never been real close in our young adult years. He was always stationed to far-away places that I've never been.  Now, as we've gotten older, we've gotten closer and I like it.  I actually like him.
He's a funny guy with a really dry sense of humor.  I love talking to him on the phone.  He keeps me smiling and laughing.
And smart, too.  He's come a long way from reading Old Yeller in high school.
I'm so proud of him.  I don't think he knows it, though.
Happy Birthday, Larry.
You're quite a guy and I love you.
Oh, oh.  I just remembered that I didn't mail your birthday card.

Excitement not measured

Tomorrow is my birthday.  Angelia, the oldest daughter, is coming down from Greenville.  Together, she and I with her two sisters, are going to go to a movie.  We haven't done anything together, just the four of us, since we all went shopping for either wedding or bridesmaids dresses about four years ago.

Later this afternoon, we're all going to meet at Pizza Hut (my choice) for dinner.

I am so excited.  What a wonderful loving way to celebrate my birthday.
