Okay. Here SHE is. Another granddaughter. She'll be our fourth and we're delighted.
Ashley went and had her ultra-sound on Tuesday afternoon and GrandDad and ol' Weezer waited and waited here. You know, back in the early 70s and 80s we waited and waited for 9 months to know what God had planned for us.
My prediction (as was several others in the family) was that we were going to get the grandson that is so obviously missing in this family. Like many, my prayer was that I wanted a healthy baby, no matter whether it was a boy or a girl. Truth be told, I'm not sure any of us in this family would know how to handle a little boy and all the activities that come with him. We would have learned and loved.
Already I love this little girl as if I were able to hold her in my arms today. She's there, in her own secure and warm world, hearing the sounds that will one day become natural for her.
Take your time, little granddaughter, of mine. We'll be here when you get here. You're going to have to be strong. That big sister of yours has a headstart.
