There's been a lot of pretty serious stuff exchanged the past few days.  I've been feeling a bit
under the weather so I thought I'd just lighten things up a bit.

Strangers in the Night (Weird Saturday, part 2)

Someone asked me in an eMail after one of my recent posts about the cicada.  Well, dear blogger friends.  This is what they look like.

This is the hollow shell that's left afetr they've been out of the ground a few days.

And this is what they look like newly hatched.  Not so pretty to look at, but their music at night is glorious.  This is the stage that they're making all the noise.  And they do it with their wings.

And all the rest of the photos are of 'wildlife' found out in my little sanctuary I call the back yard.

A Weird Saturday

I decided to share with you some of the pictures I've collected over the last few months. Most of them have shown up in eMails with many, many forwards. I won't can't take credit for any of them. If you see something here that belongs to you, let me know and I'll be glad to give you the credit (or the blame). I just thought that eventually I'd find a use for them somehow in my blog.  So, rather than trying to create some sort of commentary to go with them, I'm laying them out there for you to either love or hate.  Either way, now I can clear them from my file cabinet folder of 'For My Blog'.

Now.  Having done that, I can go back and read some more of the Follow Friday posts.

I don't even try to explain some of them.

I think I like doing this once in a while.  It gives me a mental breakdown.
