Joan of Arcadia

Do you remember the series that ran on commercial TV from September 2003 until April 2005.  Amber Tamblyn played a high school girl who saw and talked with God.  I loved the show and was really disappointed when it was pulled from the air because of religious content (as was "Touched By An Angel").  This is so sad that our world has reached the point where even the mention of God over the television or radio airways offends.
Anyway, my point is this.  I found a marathon showing of Joan of Arcadia on the tube this afternoon.  You'll never guess which channel was showing it.  Go ahead.  Guess.  I'll tell you.  The SCIFI Channel.  Can you believe it?!  How is it that film regarding God, even fiction, can be interpreted as Science Fiction!
Yes, I'm really bothered by this.  And I don't know who I'm going to write but I'm going to let someone hear my voice.  So there!

West vs East

The front of my house faces due east.  The back, due west.  This morning when I went out to check on my bird feeders, the wind was blowing wildly.  The bird feeders were rocking in the wind and the birds weren't even attempting to land to feed. The sky to the west was very ominous and threatening looking. Atleast from the west.  The dark clouds were zipping along the sky, looking for all the world like there was a huge rush to get somewhere other than where they were.

But when I turned to the east, there was a totally different look.  The sky was a deep clear blue with fluffy white clouds.
The difference in the two directions represented to me the battle between good and evil that we encounter every day.  Hoping that the bright pure good will withstand the threats of the dark evil and win the battle for yet another day.

As I stood and watched the darkness trying to overtake the light, the sun sprang out from behind the clouds.  The dark clouds evaporated in the brightness.  Good and light had won.
The day became bright and clear.

Right now, at almost 2 o'clock in the morning, it's breezy and cool outside.  There's not a cloud in the sky.  Every star is visible, shining brightly.
God's smile is reflected in a moon that will be full again in a few nights.
All is good.  All is bright.

Dear brothers and sisters,
whenever trouble comes your way,
let it be an opportunity for joy.
For when your faith is tested,
your endurance has a chance to grow.
James 1:2-3

Found

I find that more and more in my life I'm moved by the lyrics in songs.  Jessica, Scott and Leah gave me a CD for Christmas of  Hill Song and this is one of the songs on there.  I was listening while working around the kitchen and when I heard the words "I Found Myself in You", I stopped what I was doing and just listened.  That's MY song, I said out loud to myself!! (Thanks, Jessica!)    So here it is.  The spiritual thing about this is that for the past couple of days I've been wanting to do a post telling everyone that I'M JUST SO HAPPY.  That's it.  I'M JUST HAPPY!
Have a good rest of the week.
Blessings to all of you.

God of this City - Chris Tomlin

Of late, there have been two songs that we sing at church that takes me to my knees. This is one of them.
