This is a wonderfully simple story book that has a very deep message.
Frances is more concerned about a man and his pet monkey that she's seen on the street than she is about the part she has in the Christmas play at church.
That's all I need to say about the story line.
The art work is beautiful.
This was Kate DiCamillo's first picture book and I think it's a winner. Of course, she hasn't let me down yet. I want all my granddaughters to have her books on their shelves.
